Half Yearly Reports for the year 2006 - 07:
 

MULTI CHALLENGED CHILDREN’S PROGRESS:

The multi challenged children’s unit progressing as usual at a medium pace has suddenly taken off with a good increase in number of service users even with introduction of registration charges of amount rupees two hundred. New special educator with specialization in MR and additional qualification of Linguistic course has been appointed. The newly appointed special educator is enthusiastic and also we’ve started with speech training which is an interesting area to work and also explore. The centre has started recovery of Rs. 25/- per visit for speech training.

Apart from training with the prepared plan the children are included and make feel the occasions like Navaratri - Garba, Visit to Hospital, Visit to Petrol Pump, Shown Teenage movies, Training & Participation in Sports, Referral for vocational training to the nearest vocational institute, Diwali celebration. 

 
PHYSIOTHERAPY PROGRESS:

The centre functioning have been shifted from services on payment of charges only to free treatment plans for the service users who come in the low income group and it resulted to increase in number of service users. The centre has also initiated with outreach camps at rural areas of Kutch to impart the services.

The centre would go for more outreach services with preference to requirement of services to the rural people.

The centre is also planning to start with group therapy and rupees three hundred would be the charges for each session.
 

PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOTIC UNIT-BHUJ:

The supply of support services got delayed due to the ongoing process of ADIP scheme available with BPA - Ahmedabad but alternative solutions have been sorted out to provide the service users with the required support appliances. The major part of the service users would be covered under DPEP and sanctioning of support appliances to be provided by Bhuj unit for three districts have been confirmed by the Director – DPEP.

Also initial exchange of thoughts took place with Mr. M. G. Mehta from Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust to cover the service users as joint project of both the organizations.
