Brief
History:
Work Shop at K. C. R. C. is the most advanced workshop with full
equipped hi-tech range of prosthetic machines imported from abroad and
India too.
Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalaam, Hon'ble President of India then scientific
advisor to Government Of India inaugurated the prosthetic and orthotic
centre on 1st June 2001 at Indian Medical Association (IMA) building –
Bhuj. Workshop set up with local materials up gradation of workshop with
hi-tech tools / machineries. Service delivery system was put in place. |

State of art
technology was incorporated. Production of quality devices (ottobock /
telco / endolite / alimco / proteor). Workshop upgraded to the best of
its kind in India, with all the latest machines / tools / materials.
Safety rules and guidelines were followed. All staff well trained under
the guidance of technical experts from Handicap - International.
Analytical study conducted for appropriate technology. |

Future Mission: |
|
To
create awareness among persons with disability about quality of
appliances & their usage and maintenance . To select appropriate
technology for fabrication of appliances which will be environmental
friendly and oriented to culture of Kutch . To build up a p & o
centre in which the client can get all varieties of prosthesis &
orthosis available in different parts of the world. Under guidance
of Handicap International. , to take up research and development in
use of appropriate technology with the help of I.I.T.S., national
institutes and clients from community at large in Kutch district. |
